Director of Capital Planning
Chris Skiba earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Indiana State University and has worked at Purdue for close to 10 years. Chris joined University Residences in 2013 as the UR Director of Capital Projects. Chris is involved in master planning for University Residences and the dining courts, and he oversees the ongoing repair and rehabilitation projects in UR facilities. He was previously the general manager of project management for Physical Facilities.
As head of the Capital Projects department, Chris says their ultimate responsibility is to promote student success through design and construction.
“It’s all about the students and their comfort and their success. We want to give them a good environment because this is their home away from home,” he said. “That’s the primary reason I came to University Residences, because none of us would be here if our students weren’t successful.”
Chris has been married to his wife Kim for 24 years in 2014. They have two children, Matthew, a student at Depauw University, and Megan, who started at Purdue in 2014. Chris has an affinity for architecture, and one of his favorite structures is the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, where he proposed to his wife.
