Honors College and Residences
Honors College and Residences is a part of the Cornerstone Neighborhood
Welcome to Honors College and Residences! Construction of this 800-bed residence hall began in 2015 and opened for occupancy in 2016. Consisting of two buildings (North and South), the Honors College and Residences is the closest of University Residences’ nine residence halls to Purdue’s academic campus. Residents of this hall live in “pod” groupings, which include a mix of single, double and triple occupancy rooms in small clusters around central restrooms and lounge areas on each floor. Each floor contains white boards for studying, as well as lounges for academic work or watching television.
Through a partnership with the Purdue Honors College, the new residence hall make on-campus living and learning a more seamless experience by integrating planned academic space. This arrangement takes what is great about a learning community and applies it to an entire residential college – a place to live and learn alongside an entire community of students committed to the highest academic achievement. With Honors College offices on the first floor, residents will have more direct access to faculty and staff and more opportunities for engagement and mentorship.
The Society is the Honors College and Residences (HCR) Hall Club. All HCR residents are members of the Society and are able to attend meetings. The Society plans and implements events for residents, purchases materials for the kitchenettes and for residents to rent from the front desk and works to create a sense of community throughout the entire hall. We also have an Honors College Racing Crew (HCRC) who compete in the Purdue Grand Prix race each year.
