University Residences offers winter break housingWinter Break Housing

University Residences will be closed Monday, December 18 at noon–Wednesday, January 3 at 8 a.m. for Winter Break. Room only-interim housing is available to students wishing to stay during the break for an additional charge of $330, as room and board charges do not cover this scheduled vacation period (with the exception of University Residences apartments).

A limited number of residence halls will remain open during the break: Cary Quad, First Street Towers, Harrison, Hawkins, HIllenbrand, Hilltop Apartments, Third Street Suites, UR Boiler Apartments, and Purdue Village Apartments. Students living in these halls wishing to stay over the break will be billed $330 and can remain in their current room. Students in other halls will be required to move to unoccupied spaces in open halls.

Space is limited, so residents of halls closed during the break are encouraged to secure break housing as early as possible. Rooms will vary from: apartments, regular, guest or temporary space as available. The deadline to sign up for Winter Break housing is Dec. 18, 2017. Pre-registration is required for anyone staying over break.

Interim housing is not available to students who are graduating in December or not returning in the spring. No meal service will be available during Winter Break.

Behavioral guidelines will be the same as during the academic semester, as defined here.

Registration constitutes binding acceptance of the interim housing agreement. The student acknowledges they will be billed $330 for the entire winter break when the registration form is completed and terms and conditions are accepted. No refunds will be offered after December 1.
